JetBrains uses synthetic voice for its online demos

August 14, 2008

I’ve been watching a Flash based demo that shows the Seam framework capabilities in the upcoming JetBrains IntelliJ 8.0 release. Is the narrator using computer generated speech, or does this guy just sound like that. I actually like the idea that JetBrains employs humans that talk that way. Very geeky at JetBrains.

That’s not CG speech you’re hearing but rather our very own Vaclav Pech doing the v/o for the “Productive Seam Development with IntelliJ IDEA” demo.

You might remember him from such automated information kiosks as “Welcome to Springfield Airport” and “Where’s Nordstrom?”.

    Very geeky indeed.

    Keep up the good work.
